Why Warm Data?

“To face the ecological crisis that we have failed to stop or even slow down much, I need to find a new way to think, a new consciousness.” ~ Rex Wyler

Reflecting on 50 plus years of dedicated environmental activism, Rex Weyler wrestled with the fact that decades of scientific data and social activism had not improved things; in fact, they were getting worse. A new kind of thinking is needed.

In 2023, Rex attended a Warm Data Lab with Nora Bateson. You can read about his transformative experience in the article he wrote titled Searching for Warm Data?.

Join us while we practice thinking differently! Warm Data labs are an innovative way of thinking and learning together about the multiple challenges that we face, all of which are intrinsically connected to one another, i.e. transcontextual.

“Warm Data is not meant to replace or in any way diminish other data, but rather it is meant to keep data of certain sorts “warm”— with a nest of relations intact.” ~ Nora Bateson
